Vision

The vision of the Asian Pacific American Cultural Center is to foster a space for affirming and healing student identities affiliated with the center and to create a space for fellowship and community building.  

History

The Asian Pacific American Cultural Center (APACC) was established in 2003 to serve as a center for Asian American and Pacific Islanders at The University of Iowa to have a space to interact with other students and to enhance their educational experience at The University of Iowa. The APACC provides a supportive and inclusive environment while providing programs that empower students, faculty, staff and community members to excel in their endeavors, stretch themselves to experience diversity, engage in activism, make positive choices, and serve their community

Amenities

The APACC resource center is available for programming and as a venue for University of Iowa student organizations’ events. It is equipped with: a fully-stocked kitchen, a living and dining room, game and study rooms, a library, wireless internet (Netflix, Pandora) computer and printers for our patrons to use, TVs, DVD players, various board games, and a karaoke machine. The APACC resource center has anything you need to host a program, make a meal, study, or simply relax and socialize with friends!
