Now hiring: Coordinators for LGBTQRC and LNACC

Multicultural and International Student Support and Engagement (MISSE) at the University of Iowa is currently hiring for 2 positions. The Coordinator for the LGBTQ Resource Center (LGBTQ RC) and the Coordinator for the Latino Native American Cultural Center (LNACC) are the two positions available. Below I am including a little bit more about the positions.

Some of the details of this role are the following: the successful candidate will advise multicultural students group(s), continue the development and assessment of multicultural programs, work closely with identified living learning communities, plan, develop and implement programs that engage historically minoritized students. Lastly, the successful candidate will have the opportunity to oversee the implementation of our campus-wide Celebration of Cultural and Historical Months (e.g. LatinX Heritage Month, LGBTQ History Month, MLK Jr. Celebration of Human Rights Week).

The UI Cultural and LGBTQ Resource Centers are a part of the Division of Student Life, specifically the Office of the Dean of Students. The Centers support historically marginalized students at the University of Iowa. The UI Cultural and LGBTQ Resource Centers assist students with their transition to the University of Iowa and throughout their academic careers by providing support and encouragement for their academic, professional, cultural, and personal development. The UI Cultural and LGBTQ Resource Centers creates mutual opportunities and promotes programs that offer cross-cultural perspectives through partnerships with the Center for Diversity and Enrichment. Above all, this inclusive and equitable environment is committed to cultural and social awareness, which allows students, staff, alumni, and community members to be united in the pursuit of a socially just society.
