Join Dr. Rusty Barceló for our upcoming Hawks of Color virtual gathering!

Dr. Nancy "Rusty" Barcelo is nationally known for her work on equity and inclusion and is recognized nationally for speaking and conducting workshops addressing DEI.  She has served as the President of Northern New Mexico College, and multiple leadership positions across the country in higher education.  An alum of the University of Iowa, Rusty holds an M.A. in Recreation Education and a Ph.D. in Higher Education Administration from Iowa.  She held various positions at Iowa from 1975 to 1996, focusing on diversity in Academic and Student Affairs.

Hawks of Color is a place of welcome and community building while celebrating excellence! Formerly Faculty and Staff of Color, Hawks of Color is a re-envisioned community space to support and promote conversations among historically underrepresented, global majority, and/or marginalized faculty, staff, postdocs, and students at the University of Iowa. In addition to uplifting our voices and brilliance, attendees will have an opportunity to gather with others.

Individuals with disabilities are encouraged to attend all University of Iowa-sponsored events. If you are a person with a disability who requires reasonable accommodation in order to participate in this program, please contact Erin Stresow at erin-stresow@uiowa.edu.
