Black and Asian Solidarity

The purpose of this event is to educate folks about the intersections of Black and Asian activism, as well as to uplift and center Black students when talking about Asian activism. We want to highlight this specific topic, as a lot of Asian activism has been influenced by the Black community. This event will let us acknowledge and appreciate the work the Black community has done regarding activism that has set a precedent for many other marginalized communities, such as the Asian community. The Asian community would not be where it is today without help from the Black community.

This event will include conversations about the history of activism within the Black and Asian communities, along with how both communities were able to uplift each other’s movements. There will also be a workshop discussing action plans on how communities of color can practice anti-racism and how student leaders can uplift one another.
