Xavier is a fourth-year student majoring in social work📚. He's originally from the south side of Milwaukee, WI.🌃 His favorite thing he did this summer was going to a K dot concert,🎤 his first concert back home! He is excited to see all the new faces enter the space and create community with AfroHouse Programing‼️

Mazin is a second-year student majoring in communications📚. His favorite thing he did this summer was moving into a new apartment.🚚 He is excited about future events and meeting all the new folx who visit the AfroHouse this Year‼️

Arabia is a second-year student majoring in journalism and studio art. She is originally from Des Moines, IA. Her favorite thing she did this summer was traveling with the fam and creating new artwork! She is excited to create new connections within the Black community at the university.

Aiyana is a fourth-year student majoring in health studies,📚 originally from Davenport, IA. 📚This summer Aiyana flew on a plane for the first time to Colorado!✈️🗻 She is excited to meet and connect with other black people and for all the cool collabs with the other MISSE Spaces‼️

Mytika is a second-year student majoring in African American studies and marketing📚. She's originally from Des Moines, IA🌃. This summer Mytika enjoyed going to Baltimore✈️, sleeping💤, and working out🏋🏾♀️. She is excited to plan events and help to create a bigger community‼️
💫Meet Safeya💫
Safeya is a fifth-year student majoring in marketing with a focus in graphic design.📚 She is originally from Iowa City, IA. This summer Safeya was overjoyed with becoming besties with her baby niece!🥰 She is excited for a specific movie showing🍿 the Afro House may be hosting in December!👀 In addition, a second-year back in person and growing our relationship with the new incoming and returning Black student body at UI‼️

Di Shaun is a fifth-year student majoring in secondary education 👨🏾🏫 and originally from Milwaukee. 🌃 This summer Di Shaun was appreciative of the time he spent with his family back home along with his dogs!🐶❤️ He is excited to be lit at all the Afro House events this year‼️
